The Rhododendron Festival in Dunedin may have finished but the rhoddies / rhoddos do not seem to be aware of this and continue to bloom gloriously.

Can you believe that we’ve been back in Perth for over two months now! How time flies! We had a wonderful time in New Zealand – wish we were back there right now! We would like to thank you very much for showing us great hospitality and offering us advice on sights and events in Dunedin and surrounds. Pam’s computerised “tiki tour” was very informative and she showed much pleasure in presenting it to us.
Your motel rooms were delightful – clean comfortable and well equipped – like being home – and we would readily recommend you to one and all. Once again thank you for your warmth and assistance. Hope to see you again in the not too distant future.

Our work involves alot of travel through New Zealand and staying in many types of accommodation. We prefer clean, warm and friendly places. It was during our fifth stay in Dunedin this year that we were attracted by the Tourist Court Motel’s free wireless internet. Imagine our delight when we arrived to a friendly reception late one cold winters evening with the heaters already on in our rooms. It was just perfect.
The rooms were set out like an apartment with a full kitchen, separate lounge with flat screen TV and dinette, and separate bedroom (with electric blankets – great), separate bathroom (great water pressure) and toilet. Lots of room to spread out and relax. What we most enjoyed was the wonderful decor – while obviously updated it has been done very tastefully and it was a nice touch to leave some of the 70′s in the rooms as all was in pristine working order and being eco friendly why would you replace unnecessarily.
The rooms were immaculate and very clean.
Tourist Court Motel is definitely value for the money. We will be booking again with them for our next trip to Dunedin.

Save 10% on the Taieri Gorge Railway trips to Pukerangi & Middlemarch
The regular train service up the Taieri Gorge runs every day and is a spectacular rail journey. Sit back and relax as the train negotiates this exhilarating narrow river gorge with cliff hugging tunnels and viaducts soaring high above the river or maybe take a photo opportunity on the open-air platforms. The train stops for scenic and photo opportunities. The ever-changing scenery along the way will leave you amazed.
Upon leaving the gorge your train will emerge on to the Strath Taieri Plains – a rock strewn and almost lunar like landscape. This is Pukerangi and the usual turn-around point of the train.

Taieri Gorge Railway is once again running the popular Seasider train between Dunedin and Palmerston. This section of railway has spectacular views over Otago Harbour and the wild Otago coastline and is considered one of the ‘mustdo’ railway trips in New Zealand!
Take an added tour through the Macraes Gold Mine and make a day of it. Stop in Palmerston and take advantage of visiting the Bird and Butterfly Haven or enjoy the great café and craft shop scene. A coach picks up passengers directly from the train and includes a lunch at Stanley’s Hotel before returning you to Pukerangi to meet the Taieri Gorge Railway on its way home.
